2006 Maserati Trofeo race car for sale, one of very few ever be built and 1 of only 4 to be imported to the USA. One of these wicked sports cars has since been sold to Australia where it races competitively as we speak! Professionally maintained by Kevin McCue of Competizione Motors in Sonama, California - this car is as ready as they come.

The 4.2-liter multivalve V-8 remains largely unchanged, with the Trofeo's additional 23 ponies making 413 hp coming from the straight-pipe exhaust and baffle-free muffler (the computer mapping is adjusted accordingly). No changes are made to the Cambiocorsa gearbox. Fourteen-inch vented Brembos with red monoblock calipers shine through the 18-inch alloys (9.0 inches wide in front, 10.0 in the rear) wrapped with Pirelli P Zeros.

The suspension has been snubbed down a little more than an inch, and the steering ratio has been quickened. The biggest change is in weight. Soundproofing, air conditioning, and the sumptuous interior are left out. Carbon-fiber doors and hood replace the street car's steel components, and plexiglass replaces the side window glass. There's a deep aero dam up front, and a prodigious wing graces the rear deck. Once the 26.4-gallon fuel cell is added, along with a fire-extinguishing system, a roll cage, and seats and belts, the car has a dry weight of 3014 pounds, 550 pounds less than a standard Maserati 4200 GT road car.

This particular Trofeo was the branded display car for Audemar Piguet and did not have a racing past. Her current owner had her readied for both SCCA and Chequered Flag racing where she was class champion. The car has all the blemishes one would expect of a race car but is overall in exceptional condition and mechanically perfect in every way. She just had a new clutch put in so is ready for your long time enjoyment.
