While it shares a chassis with the 360 Modena, albeit significantly strengthened, the F430 features quite a few all new technological and mechanical updates that are still used in current V8 models; The electronically controlled E-Diff rear end allows superior drive out of corners. The steering wheel mounted Manettino switch adjusts the gearbox and differential between 5 drive modes; Ice, Rain, Sport, Race & CST off, which disables all driver aids. The 4.3L F136 V8 was all-new for the F430 and the Ferrari's first new V8 engine in 40 years. It makes more power and torque everywhere in the rev range and revs to a stratospheric 8500 rpm.
