The 550 Barchetta is a rare limited production Ferrari of only 448 cars. However, this 550 Barchetta Pininfarina is even more rare and special as it was the 6th of 6 pre-production prototypes built by Ferrari and the only USA model pre-production prototype built! On September 11th 2001 this car was shown in Germany at the Pininfarina stand at the IAA Frankfurt auto show in 2001 to celebrate the special union between Ferrari and Pininfarina.

A little over a year later the car was sold by Michael Sheehan's European Auto Sales to an American client with only 400 miles on the odometer. It has been extremely well preserved and cared for by Ferrari experts in California ever since. As expected all regular service has been done and the car is in excellent condition.

The odometer shows just 2,045 original miles so is basically a nearly-new car. As you can imagine it is very rare to have the opportunity to acquire a pre-production car especially one with extremely low mileage. The 550 Barchetta has been a collector's dream car produced in a very limited edition, this makes not only an outstanding addition to your collection but an excellent investment as the value has only gone up since its debut.
