This 520i was a labor of love for Ron Perry who completed the project in 2014
Based on the lightest weight European 520i chassis, the car weighs approx. 2800lb
Powered by a bored and stroked 3.9L M30 pulled out of a Group 4 3.0 CSL
Engine dyno'd at 230 bhp and 250 tq
Features a 306 cam, triple sidedraft 45 DCOE webers, a rare Dinan airbox and a full stainless exhaust, headers back from Ireland Engineering with VSR catalysts
Gearbox is a close ratio, dogleg 5-speed from a later 6-series
Differential is a limited slip unit with a 3;25.1 ratio. A diff mount reinforcement kit was also welded in
The chassis uses later model US 528i subframes front and rear
Rear drum brakes have been upgraded to discs
Suspension uses an Ireland Engineering coilover kit with Bilstein and Boge dampers with Suspension Techniques sway bars
The suspension has been corner balanced
Wheels are BBZ RZ 17X8.5 with Conti Extreme Contact 225/40ZR17 tires
Seats are badass vintage Scheel buckets up front. The front and rear have been upholstered in CSL style fabric
It has most recently been looked after by Sports Purpose Garage and Bill Arnold. This car is an absolute hoot!
