This car was twice featured in Popular Hot Rodding magazine. It was owned and built by Cam Douglass, the director of marketing for Optima Batteries and was driven in a few of Optima's track days which were covered twice for print by PHR.
The current owner is Spectre Performance of San Carlos who continued to use the car as intended. The motor was rebuilt for Spectre in 2009 by Superior Automotive Engineering in Anaheim, CA. The 350 was bored and stroked so that it now displaces 388 cubic inches. The motor features JE pistons, Scat rods, a 242/248 duration Comp solid roller cam w/ .628/.635" gross lift, 1.6 roller rockers and ported Aluminum 225cc heads
The car was dyno'd after break-in where it made 403 hp and 385 lb-ft at the rear wheels
Transmission is a Richmond 6-speed
Brakes are Baer 6-piston front and single piston rear discs w/ 2 piece rotors
Suspension features many Hotchkiss parts including giant sway bars and adjustable shocks
Comes with tons of receipts for most everything done to the car
