This is a full bare metal restoration performed by marque specialist Andy Anderson in Northern California. Mr Anderson refreshed quite a few Porsches in the mid to late 90's and was regarded as a top restorer of the time. In speaking with Andy, he purchased and intended to restore the vehicle to the highest standard and today 20 years later it is obvious he did exactly that. This Speedster needs nothing and is ready to show or collect without improvement.
On 10/14/2019 SF Sports Cars enlisted Hi-Tec Automotive in Marin County on behalf of the Speedsters owner to have it gone through and sorted to be made as turn-key as possible. The work performed amounted to an engine and transmission disassembly, re-seal, bottom end refresh and major tune-up
New crank, main and rod bearings and rod nuts were installed. The camshaft and crankshaft were sent out for machining to match the new bearings. Engine/trans fluids, spark plugs, axle boots, engine/trans gaskets, oil/fuel filters were installed. A steering box leak was also fixed. Finally, the carburetors were jetted and tuned properly and a new front sway bar was installed. The total of all work performed was $21,374
