1956 Porsche 356 cabriolet 1600 for sale in white with black interior. What a remarkable find, one owner since 1975, 42 years!

This is a largely unmolested example of a very rare, early, hand built 356. These cars rarely come on the market and typically sell very rapidly.

The good, the bad, and the ugly...

Car comes with many service receipts dating all the way back to 1975. The car was driven regularly, serviced regularly and enjoyed continually.

Motor and gearbox are from a later "C" model 356, the original motor was lost many years ago and likely worn out and of no value in past. Brakes from the "C" were installed as well, they are disc type, we have the original brakes wrapped and boxed and they will come with the car. Interior has been redone at some point past, carpets are likely original, the seats are vinyl but would have been leather from the factory. Top is correct but likely replace many years ago. The car has a more modern stereo thoughtfully installed in the car, it works but is not correct to car.

If you are seriously looking for an early Porsche, the things that should matter most are, nice, straight body, some minor rust (all do), some minor bumps and bruises (this happens after 60 years!) Mechanically she runs like a scalded ape and stops on a dime due to the brake improvement.
